No one eats right

Alright I am convinced no one eats right. Or even in moderation. For the last several weeks I have done people watching and going out to eat. Well in my book I have only lost 2 lbs in this three weeks. That to me is not right, and to be honest I have not wrote down what I have eaten faith fully. So starting Monday I will make this my number one thing. If I can type a blog I can do a food journey. I notice that when I write one I do better.

Well back to the subject at hand. As I watch what we eat there is no way anyone is eating right.Let me give you a few things as to why I think this is true. First, in order to eat healthy it cost a little more to do this. Second, it takes time to prepare food: for example cutting up all the fruits and vegetables. Thirds to find the right recipe that makes food taste good.

I pose this question out there to all of you. When you go to a restaurant to eat they serve soup and salad first. Do you do that at your house? I bet this has to cut down on the food consumption. So this is something I really need to try at my house.

Ready set let the journey begin.

  1. Keeping a food journal on here will be helpful. Seeing what you eat and adding up the numbers will keep everything in perspective more. I keep a log of my food. It is helpful for me to know what kind of numbers I have left as to what kind of things I can have for dinner.

Very true, eating salad first does stop me from eating as much as the main course. Maybe that could be helpful for you.

The big question for you is, what do you feel is not working for you? The exercise side, the food number side, the food portion size, etc?

  2. The U.S. is one of the absolute fattest countries in the world and 75% of us are overweight. So in a sense you're correct in saying that no one is eating right, because our culture just doesn't promote it. But I feel there are ways to overcome that and still eat great tasting food.

There is a book my wife loves called "Eat This, Not That" that tells you how to eat satisfying meals at virtually all the franchise restaurants, and even helps you splurge correctly. You might check that out.

Also it sounds like you are doing WW. I have done that in the past and it does work, but you gotta count points/bonus pts/activity points accurately. Eventually, you get to the point where you can do it in your head. Also, check out WW's "Cook It Quick." My wife has used that a ton and she wouldn't if it weren't easy. We don't usually have time for elaborate meals either.

To answer your question, yeah eating salads before meals and snacks like apples and grapes throughout the day, and plenty of water does make it easier to eat reasonable portions at meals.
